Investing in hail protection nets is the only solution
In Salem (Lake Constance) on Sunday afternoon a short but heavy hailstorm devastated several orchards. On a strip of a few kilometers, large parts of the fruit harvest were damaged by the 1.5-centimeter thick grains, reports local media.

Heat and moisture are better stored in the soil and the yield increases
Once the strawberry season is over, fruit producers will soon have to start growing again next year. In order to optimize cultivation conditions, Heinrich GLAESER Nachf. GmbH has a mulch film for (among other things) the cultivation of strawberries in its assortment. Stephan Kohn, Division Manager at GLAESERgrow, explains: “The film is used to suppress weeds and thus significantly reduces the use of herbicides. In addition, plant growth is optimized: heat and moisture can be better stored in the soil and the yield is thus increased. “
